Meeting of the Lincoln County Board of Commissioners. Present were Commissioners Joe Hewgley, Duane Deterding, Willis Roethemeyer, and County Clerk, Rebecca Rossell.  Roethemeyer offered prayer. Chairman Roethemeyer called the meeting to order at 9:00 A.M.

 

Chairman Roethemeyer announced the Open Meeting Act with amendments is posted for public review and the county board will comply with the open meeting requirements.

 

Motion by Deterding, seconded by Hewgley to approve the minutes regarding the Lincoln County Board of Commissioners meeting held on June 25, 2012.  Upon roll call vote Hewgley, Deterding and Roethemeyer voted “aye”.  Nays, none.

 

Motion by Hewgley, seconded by Deterding to receive and order filed the treasurer’s receipts.  Upon roll call vote Hewgley, Deterding and Roethemeyer voted “aye”.  Nays, none.

 

Motion by Hewgley, seconded by Deterding to approve and authorize the chairman to sign an amended renewal plan for Ameritas AS/VSP Plan effective 7-1-12.  Upon roll call vote Hewgley, Deterding and Roethemeyer voted “aye”.  Nays, none.

 

Motion by Deterding, seconded by Hewgley to approve and authorize the chairman to sign the Community Connections Grant Award for Grant No. 2012-EG-100 & 12-CA-508 and the sub grant special conditions.  Upon roll call vote Hewgley, Deterding and Roethemeyer voted “aye”.  Nays, none.

 

The Lincoln County Board of Commissioners recessed at 9:15 A.M. and the Lincoln County Board of Equalization convened.

County Assessor, Julie Stenger and County Treasurer, Sue Fleck appeared.

 

Motion by Deterding, seconded by Hewgley to approve the minutes regarding the Lincoln County Board of Equalization meeting held on June 25, 2012.  Upon roll call vote Hewgley, Deterding and Roethemeyer voted “aye”.  Nays, none.

 

Motion by Hewgley, seconded by Deterding to approve and authorize the chairman to sign the certificates of correction and refund submitted by the County Assessor.  Upon roll call vote Hewgley, Deterding and Roethemeyer voted “aye”.  Nays, none.

 

Motion by Hewgley, seconded by Deterding to approve the motor vehicle tax exemption application submitted by North Platte Catholic Schools as recommended for approval by the County Treasurer.  Upon roll call vote Hewgley, Deterding and Roethemeyer voted “aye”.  Nays, none.

 

 

Motion by Hewgley, seconded by Deterding to approve the motor vehicle tax exemption application submitted by Community Action Partnership of Mid-Nebraska as recommended for approval by the County Treasurer.  Upon roll call vote Hewgley, Deterding and Roethemeyer voted “aye”.  Nays, none.

 

The Lincoln County Board of Equalization recessed at 9:20 A.M. and the Lincoln County Board of Commissioners reconvened.

 

Area residents expressed concern about the fires that occurred over the weekend and the extreme fire danger potential to the county with fireworks through the 4th of July.

 

County Board discussed possible action but found no state statute to allow action at this point in time.  County Board Chairman Roethemeyer made a statement to the media expressing concern about the fire potential and asking the public to use extreme caution and to be prepared to help with fires.

 

The Lincoln County Board of Commissioners recessed at 10:52 A.M. and the Lincoln County Board of Equalization reconvened.

 

Discuss and consider 2012 Property Valuation Protests – Form 422.

 

The Lincoln County Board of Equalization recessed at 11:45 A.M. and the Lincoln County Board of Commissioners reconvened.

Advance notice and the agenda for the July 2, 2012 board meetings were sent to members of the County Board, County Attorney and all others requesting the same.  Notice was posted at the Lincoln County Courthouse, City Hall and on the county website.

 

The agenda for the meetings to be held on Monday, July 9, 2012 will be kept continually current and open for inspection at the office of the Lincoln County Clerk.  The regular meeting of the Lincoln County Board of Commissioners will be at the Lincoln County Courthouse in the Commissioners Room at 9:00 A.M.  The regular meeting of the Lincoln County Board of Equalization will be at the Lincoln County Courthouse in the Commissioners Room at 9:15 A.M.
