Special meeting of the Lincoln County Board of Commissioners. Present were Commissioners Joe Hewgley, Kent Weems, Chris Bruns, Jerry Woodruff and Deputy County Clerk, Terry Heessel. Weems called the meeting to order at 11:15 A.M. Commissioner Henry was absent.
Chairman Weems announced the Open Meeting Act with amendments is posted for public review and the county board will comply with the open meeting requirements.
Motion by Woodruff, second by Bruns to approve Resolution # 2021-26 adopting the 2021-2022 fiscal year Lincoln County, Nebraska budget. Upon roll call vote Hewgley, Weems, Bruns and Woodruff voted “aye”. Nays, none. Henry absent.
Motion by Hewgley, second by Bruns to approve Resolution # 2021-27 setting the final tax request at a different amount than the prior year tax request. Upon roll call vote Hewgley, Weems, Bruns and Woodruff voted “aye”. Nays, none. Henry absent.
Motion by Bruns, second by Woodruff to approve the County Budget Message for Lincoln County as presented. Upon roll call vote Hewgley, Weems, Bruns and Woodruff voted “aye”. Nays, none. Henry absent.
The County Board of Commissioners recessed at 11:24 AM and will reconvene at 1:00 PM to conduct interviews for Lincoln County Treasurer.
Interviews for Lincoln County Treasurer were conducted.
Motion by Woodruff to appoint Sheri Newton to fill the position of Lincoln County Treasurer. Motion died for lack of second.
Motion by Bruns, second by Hewgley to appoint Alex Gurciullo to fill the position of Lincoln County Treasurer. Upon roll call vote Hewgley, Weems, Bruns and Woodruff voted “aye”. Nays, none. Henry absent. Amended 9-20-21: Upon roll call vote Hewgley, Weems and Bruns voted “aye”. Woodruff voted “nay”. Henry absent.
Meeting was adjourned at 2:51 PM
